Watertown will be having it’s first annual kidney walk/fun run/bike-a-thon on May 5th, 2012 at Bramble Park Zoo. This is a fundraiser for the National Kidney Foundation. 

This ride is very special to Jan Larsen, WBC Secretary, because her dad, who was treated for kidney disease for many years, passed away in September, 2011. She started a team called “Pedal Pushers for Kidney Care.” She encourages all WBC members to join her team or start your own. This should be a fun event. There will be activities at the zoo after the ride. There will be the option of riding either a 10 or 30 mile loop. You can pre-register for $25, or register the day of the event for $35. You will have to check that you are a “walker” and add a $25 donation to register online.
