Watertown Bicycle Club was originally governed by an interim board of directors who volunteered their time and efforts to form a not for profit corporation and apply for tax-exempt status. They worked hard over the winter months to form the infrastructure for the new club. Special thanks to Bruce Ford for his work on the Articles of Incorporation for the WBC.

A Membership Kick Off Event was held at Bramble Park Zoo on June 12, 2011. Members were given the opportunity to nominate board members to represent them moving forward. Formal elections were held at the first annual membership meeting on June 20, 2011 at Lunkers on Lake Kampeska.
